We have just received our wedding album. It is even more beautiful than we imagined it to be. We can not wait to share it with others, actually anyone who visits us will be subjected to the album! It was such a pleasure dealing with all of you. You made the ordering and putting together the album such an easy (and fun) task. I also wanted to say how my family (even the kids) have remarked how nice you and Peggy were and so did our guests. Finished albums, with photographs mounted on pages in covered volumes, are not included with the professional fee. The fee does include the set of 3-1/2 x 5 preview photos ("proofs"), any of which can be mounted in the finished album. If your photography contract with us specifies digital photography, presentation pages (a linked compilation of images on a revised CDrom that you can browse on the computer) are included in the fee.

Albums come in many different styles, and choosing an album is best done after you have reviewed all the preview photographs.

Nominal album sizes:

"10 by 10" -- A square format that will mount 8 x 10 photos either way, and will also mount multi-size layouts. Available from Leather Craftsmen, Art Leather, and Holson.

"8 by 10" -- A rectangular format that will mount 8 x 10 photos only one way, usually a Flush album. Available from Leather Craftsmen.

"8 by 8" -- a square format that will mount 5 x 7 photos either way, or pairs of 3-1/2 x 5s. Available from Leather Craftsmen, Art Leather, and Holson

Cover materials:

Leather, shiny finish, from Leather Craftsmen and Art Leather.

Leather, euro (dull) finish, from Leather Craftsmen.

Imitation leather-like finish, from Holson.

Cover colors:

Leather in shades of white, black, blue, brown, gray, red, green.

Imitation leather-like in white, black, blue, brown, gray.

Binding methods:

Leather albums with hand-sewn and glued spine (library bound books), from Leather Craftsmen.

Leather albums with metal flanges holding hinge rods, from Holson.

Imitation leather-like covers using overlapping hinges and rods.

Imitation covers using threaded binding posts.

Photo mounting methods:

Photo trimmed by hand and glued into recessed mat opening, from Leather Craftsmen.

Flush album, photo glued to the page then trimmed flush ("bleed") to the edge of the page with no mat, from Leather Craftsmen

Photo and mat slipped into the edge of a page base, from Art Leather and Holson.

Page bases can have metal (Holson) or gilded (Leather Craftsmen and Art Leather) edges.

Photo and mat slipped into a plastic-covered page.

Maximum number of photos:

Same size picture throughout the album, 40 photos.

Four 3-1/2 x 5 photos per page, 160 photos.

Standard photo reprint sizes that fit albums:

8 x 10, 5 x 7, 3-1/2 x 5.

Panoramic (double page), 4 x 6, and oval photos may be mounted in some cases.

Standard photo layouts per multi-size page:

One 8 x 10 horizontal or vertical

Two 5 x 7s, both horizontal or both vertical

Four 3-1/2 x 5s, all horizontal or all vertical

Four 3-1/2 x 5s, two horizontal and two vertical

Decorative options for Leather Craftsmen albums:

Mat colors; white, black, cream, charcoal, brown.

Edge of page gilded or silvered.

Border between photo and mat gilded or silvered.

Gold or silver tooling on cover and spine.

Monogram, names, or date imprinted on the cover. (also available for imitation leather albums)

Mount an invitation, program, menu or reply card. (also available for imitation leather albums)
